Ruggapalooza Weekend

Eagles Rugby enjoyed an intense day of rugby at the annual Ruggapalooza event held at Houston Amateur Sports Park over the weekend.  All three STH teams gained valuable experience playing against a variety of opponents over the weekend.  The controlled setting allowed coaches to be on the field and work one-on-one with the athletes while still competing in a "life environment."  The highlight of the day was the full-field scrimmage against a very physical Cy Fair team.  It is clear that competition this year will be intense and that high school rugby in Texas is going to another level. The Eagle staff and players are very excited to embrace a hugely competitive schedule which will test our physicality, mental ability, and preparation every week.  A great start to our season!
A special thank you to all of our parents who came out and supported the team on Saturday and provided shelter and food throughout the day - as always, you guys are amazing!  A special prayer goes out for Carlos Ulloa, who was injured - we hope for a speedy and full recovery!
